Experience
I have a BSc.Hons in Zoology, I also studied an MSc. in animal behaviour at Manchester Met. Most importantly though, over the last 20 years I have worked with everything from tigers to bears, horses to elephants, and yes dogs. I have learned from trainers, zoo keepers and from years working hands on with animals – I would place this knowledge way above what any book or course has ever taught me.
Results
Having confidence and trust in your trainer is everything. Thats why we can show you results working with everything from cockapoos that have no manners to dangerous dogs that have been at the last chance saloon! Results are everything.

Rescue dogs
We have been working with animals for a long time and have a wealth of experience in identifying and dealing with challenging behaviours. From aggression, guarding and anxiety to travel or spearation issues, we can help.
We are also the official behaviourist for a dog rescue in the midlands working with specific behavioural issues in order to make challenging dogs suitable for rehoming.

1-1 Sessions
Our 1-1 sessions deal with both behavioural and obedience. We will work with you to identify your goals and then build the correct foundations to achieve them. I don’t believe in a quick fix, all of the work we do is based on foundation and relationship. With those elements in place you will be set up for a rewarding lifelong relationship with your dog where time with your best mate is a joy, not a chore.
Group Classes
Our group classes are only available to our 1-1 clients. This ensures before any of our dogs are in a pressurised environment all handlers are competent and no dogs are unsafe for other clients to be around. We also do structured pack walks.
Our classes cover manners, correct socialisation, heel work, and recall as well as dealing with reactivity and other issues.

What our clients say...

Bruce, Mali-x-Shepherd
Bruce came to APK9 having been told by his last trainer that the only kind option was to put him down. He was people and dog aggressive, had been walked very little for some time because of his issues and visitors to the house were not an option.
3 months training with APK9 has seen his life and the life of his owners change dramatically. Now walked daily, and safely without the drama and anxiety that a reactive dog can cause. His reactivity problems are well under control and visitors are now able to come to the house and be greeted by a completely different dog.
The reality is that this gorgeous boy just needed some understanding coupled with leadership and training to completely change his life for the better.
Solo and Sully, reactive Daschunds.
Solo and Sully, owned by Ben and Zoe have been through a series of behaviour modification sessions. The have gone from highly reactive dogs that had resource guarding issues (Sully has put teeth on several times), no lead manners or ability to mix in public, to dogs that can now go out without any drama! Life changing for Ben and Zoe as you can serfdom their revue above.

Siren, Doberman-x-Cane Cors
Siren is an absolute firecracker of a dog, high drive and full of life. She came to us at 6 months old with some dog/people aggression and reactivity problems. In two months and thanks to the commitment of her owners Hannah and Harry this one time hooligan is well on the way to being a superb example of how with the right training and commitment the sky is the limit. From a liability that disrupted the household, to a future high level obedience dog is more than achievable now for Siren.
